This is the middle version of the RC: GL658B. Urban legend claims this version, GL658B, has 0.01483 watts compared to GL658A having 0.37 watts. C has 0.931. I'm trying to have an engineer measure. The firmware is 1.2.0.17+. RC will NOT wifi upgrade firmware. Here is a solution.Get a USB stick. Erase everything on it and empty the trash.Download and copy firmware 1.3.0 to the USB stick. [...]Charge the Remote Controller.Power OFF Remote Controller.Place the USB stick into the RC's USB port.Power up RC. At approx 1 minute, you should get a blue light on the controller and hear D-D-D-D.Upgrade to 1.3.0 should take less than ten minutes. When it's complete, you'll get a solid green light.Power off the RC. Remove the USB stick. Now, RC should upgrade firmware via WiFi from Inspire. To link it to your Inspire, open "Go". Grab a pencil or something similarly long and thin. Locate the "Link" button inside upper right of Inspire. Go to RC. Press "RC" icon at top. Select "Linking Remote Controller" at bottom of menu. Annoying beeping and 60-second countdown timer will begin. Press "Link" button inside Inspire.Received a broken controller, 1 of the antennas was snapped off and hanging by a wire.Once I synced the controller it still would beep red as if I didn't sync it. Although everything worked on the drone. i'm not going to have a controller that beeps while flying. Very annoying and therefore it's defected.Be warned most of these remotes do not link up and require them being returned to DJI. Unknown why but basically you have to buy from an reputable seller and prove its under warranty otherwise DJI will charge. If you have an Inspire 1 and are looking for a second controller - this under $300 original equipment (OEM) DJI controller is about as good as it gets. Just like the one that came with the drone at half the price. As another reviewer has mentioned, it will require a firmware update that cannot be completed through the app. Fortunately, with a simple USB stick you can easily update in about 5 minutes. Once updated it's as good as gold and ready to go!I will not ever purchase a DJI device from Drone Pro's again. Sold me a non working, used and broken controller. There was dirt embedded in the seams of the controller. The right side antenna was broken. They are made to snap in and out but this one did not snap back in fully right out of the box it was dangling. There was no updating, the DJI App kept reading "Disconnected" when it was fully plugged in via the USB port. Could not bind it to the aircraft at all. Trying to find Drone Pro's on line for a phone number or email is impossible. Wrote them through Amazon Prime to no avail. Sent back and have nothing but praise for Amazon Prime and their return speediness and refund. Never from Drone Pros again!Awful. Bought one, defective. Common problem, no connection to iPad. Replaced it, second one has the exact same problem. Two for two, defective right out of the box. The replacement arrived loosely wrapped in about 7 inches of bubble wrap, banging around in the box. What a joke.I realize the Inspire 1 is no longer supported, but that doesn’t mean you can shovel a load of broken controllers out for $300+. Had anyone taken 25 seconds to power these up and attempt to connect to a tablet it would have been an easily identified issue. Better leave that to the consumer though, that makes sense.good product arrived on time with zero issues. thanks!second one purchased in one week. Both didn't work and had to be sent back to the manufacturer. Do not buy from this person. The remote will not connect to the drone or IPAD. It maybe something minor or it maybe a manufacturing problem
